The Outsider for April 2020, Audition November, 2019

Ludlow Village Players will hold auditions for the annual Spring play Tuesday, November 19 and Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 5 pm to 7:45 pm at the Bay Club, 120 Spinnaker Place, Port Ludlow WA. The play chosen for 2020 by Guest Director Randy Powell and the LVP Selection Committee is The Outsider, a hysterically funny comedy by Paul Slade Smith.
The Outsider skewers politics and celebrates democracy with a cast of seven absolutely zany characters, four male and three female adults of various ages. You may Google and read parts of the script and reviews of The Outsider online. If you have been thinking of auditioning and just haven’t done it yet, this is the one to go for! It promises to be a riotous time for all.
The audition process will vary from prior years at LVP. You MUST attend the first night, Tuesday, Nov.19. On that night you will portray a character, not from The Outsider, in a setting of the Director’s choice. You will find that character named in the Audition packet available for you to pick up at the Bay Club after October 15th. Thursday, Nov. 21 is a call back night. If you are notified to return, you may read a part from The Outsider. Sounds like a lot of fun. The Audition packet will include an application, to be turned in the first night of auditions, plot and character descriptions, the character you will portray the first night, and other relevant information. Rehearsals begin mid-January for six performances April 17 through 26, 2020.
Another way to have fun in theater is backstage help. We are now recruiting crew support for this production and will give details in next month’s Voice issue. Any questions, contact Randy Powell, rpowell25@earthlink.net/360-536-0628 or Val Durling, rkd@olypen.com/360-437-2861. We’d love to talk to you. See you in November!
