2018 Spring Play: Suite Surrender

Michael McKeever’s Suite Surrender is a love note to the classic farces of the 40s. The setting is a luxurious Palm Beach hotel, which is hosting a United Services Organizations (USO) benefit for our troops. USO, in partnership with the Department of Defense, was chartered in 1941; from then until 1945, it is estimated nearly 300,000 shows were performed for over 150 million service members. The headliners for our show at the Palm Beach Royale are two of Hollywood’s biggest and scariest divas, Claudia McFadden and Athena Sinclair. Claudia is America’s Singing Sweetheart, who enters a room like an elegant tornado. Lusty, vivacious Athena is the Star of Stage and Screen. They intensely loathe one another. So what could go wrong? What if the two queens of mean wind up booked into the same suite at the hotel? Unleash the claws and let the fireworks begin.
